Rise & Shine
I always make breakfast a priority in the morning. Regardless of how little sleep I've gotten or how rushed I am in the morning, I make time to eat. I have never understood how some people are capable of functioning in the morning without breakfast. I surely couldn't. There have been a plethora of studies concerning the correlation between breakfast and weight loss/maintaining weight. The results of these studies are fairly ambiguous, but I believe there is something to having a healthy start to your day. When I fuel my body with important nutrients early in the day I feel significantly less sluggish and more motivated later in the day. A smoothie bowl is one of my favorite go-to breakfast options, because you can make them pretty much any way that your heart desires. I'm a fruit addict so I usually pack mine with a bunch of different berries, pineapple, banana, mango, or whatever fruits I have on hand. I like topping my bowls off with GF granola for some whole grains and fiber. I also like adding a myriad of nuts, seeds, and almond butter for some protein. Finally as if this fruity bowl isn't sweet enough, I also like to chop up pieces of vegan dark chocolate to sprinkle on top.
